Five Guys

Tonight the wife and I took in dinner with Greg, Val, Nick O. and Nick P. at Five Guys. I'd never been, but I'd heard nothing but good about the place. They were not overhyped. Delicious, good priced, delightful atmosphere. If you've never been, it's sort of like a mix between Steak and Shake and Penn Station. Same type of fries, and the burgers sort of taste like the steak burgers at Steak and Shake, but they're much bigger, and far more delicious. We enjoyed the company, and the food. Glad we were invited out with our friends for such a pleasent evening. I've enclosed a picture so you can see just how yum-yum-tastic the burger looked. Enjoy...I did.

New Friends

This weekend is my friends Greg and Val's wedding. We came up to Hueston Woods Friday afternoon. The rehersal/dinner was Friday night, and the wedding is today...Saturday. It's a great weekend. We've been hanging out with all of Val and Gregs other friends and I've come to realize that I want all of them to be my friends too. They're all awesome..and I enjoy being with "like" souls. So, this weekend, and last weekend, I've made new friends..and I am a fan. That is all. Good day.

Unemployment

As some of you may know, I'm currently laid off. It does suck. It all started about 5 months ago when I was fired from the Hospital I worked at for some very "skeptical" reasons. Let's just say suddently (4 days before I was set to get a 5% raise) there was a question about my work. The work that had me doing over twice as much as everyone else on my team. Very very sketchy. But, reguardless...it turned out to be the best thing that could have happened to me. I always hated it there, but I never realized just how much I hated it till I was gone.

So, I started the unemployment process with nothing to help me out. No unemployment benifits because the hospital fought me on it and told the government that I was fired and all that. So...I find a new job. A job I love at a doctors office. And 2 months in, I am laid off, because and I quote "There was plenty of work when you started, but you came in and did it all, and now there isn't anything else for you to do." So, basically, I worked myself out of a job there. But, this time, I can apply for unemployment!

So, yesterday, I got the paperwork stating that I was going to receive my unemployment benifits. Not only would I receive my benifits from the Gastro doctor I worked for, but...wait for it...I'd get benifits from THE HOSPITAL too! Ha! F- You Hospital! You're still paying me!!!!!! And that is why today I am in a happy mood. Because, I just got paid by the assholes that fired me to sit at home and enjoy the rain today. Thanks jerks! Serves you right!

Beating the System

So...where were we?

As we've discussed I've been laid off. It sucks...period. But, I just found out that I do qualify for unemployment. I also found out that I'll be making $10 less per week in my unemployment than I did at my job. God Bless America! So, that'll help in the new job search. I had such a hard time when I was looking for a job last time. We had very little money, and I couldn't find anything. Now, I dont' have to worry about not having any money at all while I look for my future career. Which is, I have to say, a total bonus!

My grandma is in town. She moved down to Louisville to live with my aunt a few years ago. Well, she and my aunt are in town for the weekend to "visit". Which means, my Aunt is in town to visit, and my Grandma is in town so she can go to the Casino. So, my Mom, Aunt, Grandma, Angie and I all went to the gambling boat today. Angie and I have never been to a casino. So, we go in and my mom gives Angie and I $2...we were just playing the penny slots anyway. So, I burn thru that pretty quickly. Mom gives each of us $10. There was a "betting malfunction" and half of my money was lost on 2 bets...not awesome. And, the rest of it was lost with terrible "luck". So, I hate the casino. So, we attempt to leave and we all go to Grandma who tells gives us all $10 bucks and basically just waves us all off to leave her alone. So, Angie and I go back to the gambling. At the end of the day we had $35. That should tell you how good we are at the gambling! I'm not going to say we "worked" the casino...but, we went in with nothing, came up with $35. Just so you all know that's probably like a 350% increase in the money from the day.

We're awesome.

The End.

Reversion

I've recently had an itch to watch WWE wrestling again. What's the deal with that. I've actually started DVRing it! It's seriously been like 9 years since I actually watched wrestling. Back when Brian, Nick and I used to live together in Clifton we used to watch it all the time, and then order pay-per-views each month! It was such an entertaining thing. But, then we suddenly just stopped watching. It was like hope people used to love Pauley Shore, and then suddenly were just like, "FUCK Pauley Shore!" We were like that with wrestling. I don't know what happened.

Now, everyone has moved on to Ultimate Fighting. I just never got into that. At least when I loved wrestling it wasn't about people getting their faces smashed in...don't get me wrong, I changed "HOLY SHIT" when someone jumped off a ladder and smashed through a table along with everyone else. But, with wrestling there are storylines, and good guys and bad guys. It's just a huge macho soap opera. With Ultimate Fighting, it's just that, fighting. I've never been a fighter, I've always been a lover! And, while wrestling is fighting too, it's not "Real" fighting. It's stage fighting with people who like to jump off of things and through things. It's not just two guys attempting to punch through the other's face.

I get that people love Ultimate Fighting, and more power to them. But, for some reason, Wrestling has called me back. If you smeeeellleleleleleleleleleleel, what Scott, is...cookin.

Sundays

So, I woke up at about 9 this morning. Had a bowl of cereal while I watched Thursday's DVR'd episode of Conan. Then went to the grocery. I've come to realized that I need to do my grocery shopping on just about any day but Sunday. And, if I do it on Sunday, it's gotta be before like 10 a.m. I'm not saying there's anything about church...but, at around 11 on Sunday morning, the leagues of "church folk" come out to do their shopping. You can tell them by their "high and mighty" looks, and their "far too fancy for Kroger" clothes. They take forever to look at the things that I need, they clog up my lines, the all in all put a damper on what would be a delightful trip to the grocery. Damn you church folk!

In other news, I'm currently watching The British Open. Normally I won't watch too much golf if Tiger Woods isn't in the final pairing, but, I can't not watch Tom Watson. He's older than my parents and is very close to winning the British open. It's crazy! Go Tom Watson!

We're getting ready to head off to take some Engagement pics for our friends Hakim and Alison, so I must go. But, this is two blogs in two days...I'm back babydolls!
